Games, Web & Design

Two months ago, i had done a jump over my own shadow. First time of my life i have sponsored those guys(sorry ladies, i think you understand the meaning) from Cupertino and have bought a brand new MacBook. You know it, the pimped, shiny white, lovely, beautiful and nearly perfect MacBook, … oh no the Apple sect has infected me!

I´m only writing rubbish, fore sure i love that little baby but i´m currently writing this entry with my good old WinPC system and it works(but without these nice little aqua effects… stop… stop….steve.. go off my shoulders you little devil ;) )

But with this subnotebook together, I am now a daily user of all three products from the major operating system distributors. My desktop is running on Win, my webdev server(Pentium 1) is running a Fedora Core 2 with GNOME on it(an yes it works without 700 MBytes ;) ) and now my new subnotebook is the one with Mac OS X.

If you think there are problems in daily workflow, I can only say, try this yourself at home and you will get satisfied. Cause of the SMB servers running on the UNIX based systems(Mac OS X and Fedora), networking is no problem. For connecting them together i am using a small router(with automatic DHCP config).

As a completly newbie to Mac OS X i was surprised by the intuitivity of the system. There was no real learn process, everything do what i want to do. The only thing i had to recognize, it will take time to learn how features like Exposè can improve my workflow, because I am a Win veteran and have a much more pragmatic view on handling desktop tasks. Sometimes i could not dispose of that i think a little bit to linear and in one dimension.
